We’ve been here five years ago in 2013 and the food really impressed us. But the quality of the food has dropped so dramatically and our second visit is such a pity. The risotto is poorly seasoned that the only taste is salt. Lasagna is barely a melt of minced meat and small slices of lasagna sheet. Salad is not seasoned at all. Spaghetti is the only dish with quality but still no more than average. Although the service was warm and location is great, such food makes this place a disastrous choice. Very disappointed.

Excellent location, just behind Duomo on a tiny side street with close-up view of the structure. Service and atmosphere were welcoming, food was good.

Prices aren't bad for the size and quality of the meal! Patient staff, comfy indoor or outdoor seating, nice atmosphere, and great food!

Too bad they have such a great location - because the service was terrible when we were there on a weekday early evening. They didn't really want us there, weren't too happy about what we ordered, and did little besides set plates in front of us (4 adults). DON"T WASTE YOUR TIME. The food was ok - not great.

I cannot rave about this restaurant enough. I was studying abroad when I found this restaurant. It was recommended to us by a local. It was by far the best meal I had in Florence and every other place I traveled in Italy. If you sit outside its wonderful to admire the duomo. Don't be discouraged because it is so close to the "tourist trap" they have very reasonable prices and amazing customer service. The gnocchi is my favorite dish but i have never been disappointed with anything I've eaten. The owner is so kind and welcoming. Since studying there I have been back twice and each time, a stop here is the first thing I do.

4.7/5 (August 2013) Sasso Di Dante was our first meal in Florence and was a real treat. We were skeptical at first because of the restaurants location right near the Duomo, thinking it would be a tourist trap. We quickly realized we were mistaken. When we walked in around 1500 (a very odd time to be eating) the cozy restaurant was practically empty. The owner and waitress were very friendly and gave us plenty of recommendations. I ordered the Eggplant Parmesan and my wife ordered the Lasagna. Each dish was coated in a think layer of cheese and baked to perfection. They were both heavy, and sweet, leaving us full and satisfied. We still agree that they were the best dishes of their kind that we have had. The prices were very reasonable, especially because of the location.
