This was our first tour in Italy. Lots of knowledge and skipping the line! I suggest it!

First of all, thank you Viator for your representative's help with this tour. I greatly appreciated her patience and hard work to help me get back on this tour. We basically went to the wrong meeting point. The confirmation sheet contained 2 different instructions and I read the wrong one. On top of this.....Venice is a tangle of streets, bridges and canals. It is not the easiest city to walk through. Our senior travelers grew weary of the windy streets and narrow corridors and we had to find another route to get to the Basilica....we ended up taking the water bus which gets there via the water. Once I got there, I realized that our tour guide was not going to be there - she was going to be at a statue located 20 min. from that point. From her meeting point, she was going to walk through a bit of the City and finally arrive at the Basilica for the 2nd half. It was too late to reverse to find her and I called Viator to see if we could just stay at the Basilica and wait for her to arrive to finish the second half. After a long wait over the phone and several calls, Viator managed to find the guide and we were told to stand by the Skip the Line entrance to the Basilica and wait for her. Viator gave clear instructions about who / how / where and we connected. Without that rep's help - the 6 of us would have had to forfeit the full cost of this tour. As it turned out - we all got a chance to see the Basilica and have a pleasant gondola ride in the end. Thanks Viator for your help - job well done! Thank you.....this alone is a good reason to book with Viator.

Excellent walking tour of the most beautiful city of Venice. The length of the tour was perfect, and the gondola ride was a nice, restful, ending.

Tour was ok. Was a rainy day so was abit rushed walking thru the rain. Condala ride was a waste as it was pouring rain. They could have cancelled the ride for a later time when the weather cleared up.

The tour guide's strong accent got in the way. Other than that, great tour.

Fascinating that areas so near to St Mark's were so quiet and peaceful yet packed with interesting history. Brilliant

It was a very good and interesting tour, but it was a little hard to understand the tour guide, because she had a very heavy accent. It was VERY hot that summer, so it was hard to walk a long time without a water break or finding some shade. If it wasn't for the weather, I would definitely recommend this tour. They were easy to find and started pretty much on time. Rare for Italy :

This was a very good tour. The meeting point was very easy to get to and getting into our groups was easy. Our tour guide was Monica. She was very knowledgeable about everything that we did and everywhere we went. The walking component of the tour was very interesting as we went off from the main streets and went through different areas that we probably wouldn't have gotten to if we didn't take this tour. Seeing all the ins and outs of the areas was really interesting. St. Mark's Basilica and the tour inside felt rushed. The people that were inside the Basilica were rushing people along as if we were cattle. That is nothing that was wrong with the tour company itself, but rather the personnel inside the Basilica. I wish we were allowed more time inside to look all around. Make sure that you don't take pictures or else you will have the cattle herding security personnel yell at you. Did not happen to me, but saw it happen to others inside. Also, something that is very important if you don't want to waste 1 or 2 euro on coverups, is to make sure that you follow the instructions for the dress code. They were way more strict on the females, however some males also needed to purchase coverups. NO EXPOSED KNEES OR SHOULDERS! Males with longer shorts should be ok, but I wore pants just to make sure. No tank tops or short shorts for either male or female. We took the optional gondola ride, as we felt that it was a more cost effective way to go for a gondola ride. Venice has fixed rates for the gondola rides as it is a huge business. 80 euro for 30 minutes during the day 8am-7pm or 100 euro during the night 7pm-8am with a max of 6 people per gondola. You pay the price for the ride as a whole, whether its 1 or 6 people. The ride that we went on was about 32 minutes and went out in the bigger water streets to start and then took us through the smaller water streets and under some bridges as we went for the ride. Overall it was a good tour, with the only improvement being that I wish we could have spent a little bit longer in the basilica itself.
