Duomo Square is the heart of Taormina. It is a small square in front of the main cathedral of the city. the Cathedral was built in 13th century and is one of the most visited sites of the city.There’s a fountain in the middle of the square, which gives the square a lively and fresh look. Besides the cathedral and the fountains, some of the city’s other attractions are situated in the square, or around it.
To the right of the Piazza is the Floresta house, which was built in 14-15 centuries. The Town Hall, which is the symbol of Taormina is also situated in the square.
During the summer months, Cathedral Square with its impressive lookout over the bay and Mount Etna, becomes the setting of a market where you can buy typical products of the craft and Taormina.
