Nairobi National Park

Langata Road, Nairobi

Nairobi National Park is Kenya's first national park founded in 1946 in capital Nairobi. It is located 10 kilometers south to Nairobi city center. A huge electric fence divides the park and its wildlife from the city. The park is unique for its proximity to the urban area. Even Nairobi's skyscrapers are seen from the park.

Nairobi National Park is home to a large number and variety of wild animals. The wildlife represented here includes 100 mammal species among them buffaloes, giraffes, lions, cheetahs, leopards, zebras etc. It is one of most successful rhinoceros sanctuaries in Kenya for housing black rhinoceros, which is an endangered species. Herbivores migrate to the park in dry season. 400 endemic bird species, out of which 20 are European seasonal migrants, can also be found in the park.

The park has also facilities for camping, picnics, corporate events and even weddings.

Nairobi National Park is open daily from 6 am to 7 pm. The entrance costs for foreigners are $ 50 per adult and $ 25 per child.

Loved going there, quite a stunning place also! The Nairobi National Park has wonderful wildlife and wonderful picnic spots. I enjoyed a lovely brunch there for my aunts birthday, and it was very quiet and peaceful! :)

A great safari experience, without leaving the city. We saw lions hunting, black rhinos, giraffes, zebras, warthogs, and many other animals. I even found a tarantula in a hold at one of the picnic sites (exciting for me). The nice thing for us was that it was way less crowded than Masai Mara national park so we weren't competing with other groups for views. We really enjoyed the day.

It is a nice and beautiful game park. You should create time and visit the park in the city to see wild animals such as the lion, warthogs, hyena, snakes, monkeys, Buffalo, giraffe, antelopes, baboons, leopards and many more. I can't explain the fun, come experience it

Its always exciting to visit the wild and the national park is a great place to start. I'd advice to go to the park especially the safari drive when its cooler cause when the sun is burning hot, most animals will be hiding. Also all the people who go to the wild and get really close to the animals, please stop. Its not cool watch the animals from a distance. Don't drive your land cruiser or landrover defender almost two feet over the animals. Your disrupting the peace of the animal.

A must visit for tourist visiting Kenya. Its the quickest interaction with nature at its best where visitors get a wonderful chance to enjoy the sunset, Watch world-life, learn about various animals and enjoy a game drive. The Park is only a few minutes drive from the airport and the city centre. Other than the game drive, there is the Animal Orphanage and the Nature trail.

We drove trough Southern Expressway beside Nairobi national park, and lucky to see Zebras here. From Airport to Hotel this path is charming. If you are only visiting Nairobi - This park is highly recommended to see wildlife from very close.

Nairobi National Park is a national park in Kenya. Established in 1946, the national park was Kenya's first national park. It is located approximately 7 kilometres (4 mi) from the centre of Nairobi in south, Kenya's capital city, with an electric fence separating the park's wildlife from the city. Nairobi's skyscrapers can be seen from the park. The proximity of urban and natural environments has caused conflicts between the animals and local people and threatens animals' migration routes... one of the best park i have ever seen.

The green city in the whole world. The best part is proximity to the city centre. Whole place contrasting the concrete jungle a couple of metres away. A mist visit for everyone.
